The fine people of Purple Toga Publications are proud to announce that our latest anthology – Feast or Famine? – is now available!
This is a delectable and delightful collection of delicious short stories exploring how core is food to the human experience. The anthology collects some established and new indie voices, ranging from fantasy to science fiction, from horror to fairy-tales.
We’ve had an amazing turn-out, and it was a real challenge to select just the very best. The stories are thematically alternating between feasts and famines (though leaning on the former). All stories are accompanies by recipes, although readers are advised that we take no responsibility of the results; some may be delicious, others may unleash pestilence.

For the sharp-eyed among you, yes, I have 4 submissions in there. I’m just as food-obsessed as Felix (write what you know, and all that). Those include:
- The Egyptians Were Wrong, the flash fiction result of reading too widely
- Red Riding Wolf, because everyone deserves a voice
- Rabbit Stew, a new Jack police file, somewhere between Monty Python and A Night in the Museum
- Stench, the first new Felix mystery in 5 years!
But really, all are excellent and worth the read. If you like food, and who doesn’t, go explore it across the pages of this massively mesmerising collection!
